First-Year Residential Living Requirement
All first-year students who are one year or less removed from high school graduation, as well as unmarried, undergraduate international students, are required to live on campus during their first academic year (see our Residential Living Requirement Policy).

How to Apply
New Student Housing Application
1. Log in to e-Services.

- Use your StarID and StarID password to log in.
- Only students accepted to BSU by the Admissions Office can apply for housing.
- NTC/PSEO Students, before applying for housing, visit the NTC/PSEO housing page
- If you need assistance with your StarID or StarID password, click on “Forgot Password?” to the right of the login boxes.
- You may also visit the StarID help site if you have trouble logging in.
- Use your StarID and StarID password to log in.
2. Click on Housing and Dining.

- You may need to re-enter your StarID credentials.
- You will be taken to your Housing Portal.
3. Select the appropriate Housing Application from the top menu.
4. Complete the Housing Application. Applications are considered complete when you:

- Sign the Terms of Agreement.
- If you are under 18 at the time of application, you’ll need to print the Terms of Agreement and have you and a parent/guardian sign it. Please submit the signed Agreement to our office.
- Make the $150 Prepayment.
- The $150 prepayment is applied directly toward your first semester costs.
- Sign the Terms of Agreement.
5. Watch your BSU email for further information from the Housing & Residential Life office.

- February 1: The Roommate Search page will be available in the housing application.
- June 1: Finalize your pair and make sure your application is complete.
- Early June: Room selection timeslots will be sent to your BSU email based on your application completion date.
- Mid-June: When your timeslot opens, select a room, bed loft preference and meal plan in the housing application.
- Rooms are selected on a first-come, first-served basis. When your timeslot window opens, don’t delay selecting your room.
- The room self-selection process ends on August 1. After this date, our office will randomly assign you a room if you have not selected a space.
- All first-year students are required to have a meal plan. If you do not select a plan, we will assign one to you before the start of the contract.
Returning Student Housing Application
1. Log in to e-Services.
2. Click on Housing and Dining.
3. Select the appropriate Housing Application from the top menu.
4. Complete the Housing Application. Applications are considered complete when you:

5. Priority Point & Returner Room Selection Process.

- January 12: Priority Point Worksheet distribution begins by RA/PAA staff.
- January 24: Priority Point Worksheet due to Housing & Residential Life office.
- January 28-31: Same-Room Selection (Room Renewal).
- February 11-13: Priority Point Participants Room Selection.
- Watch your BSU email for your room selection start time. Emails should be out by 4:00 PM on Feb 6.
- February 18-20: Room Selection opens to all other returning students, including those living off-campus.
- March 31: Housing $150 Prepayment Due.
- This will secure your room selection.
- April 2: Room Sign-Up Celebration!

Cedar Apartment Single-Parent Application
1. Complete the Cedar Apartments Application.
2. Sign the Cedar Apartment Agreement 2024-2025.
3. Submit completed forms to the Housing & Residential Life office.

4. A Housing & Residential Life staff member will contact you to review your application, ask a few questions, answer any questions you may have and possibly schedule an apartment tour.
5. If approved, a $150 prepayment is required before you are assigned to an apartment.
