All first-year students one year or less removed from high school graduation and unmarried, undergraduate International students are required to live on campus during their first academic year (see our Residential Living Requirement Policy). Learn how to apply below.

The housing application for Fall 2024 is now open. The Spring 2025 Only and Fall 2025 housing applications will open on October 1, 2024.

1. Log in to MyBSU

  • You can log in to your MyBSU portal from the link at the top of any Bemidji State web page.
  • You will use your StarID credentials to log in.
    • Only students accepted to BSU by the Admissions Office can apply for housing.
    • NTC/PSEO Students, before applying for housing visit the NTC/PSEO housing page.
  • For assistance with either your StarID or StarID password, click on “Forgot Password?” to the right of the login boxes

2. Click on e-Services.

  • The link for e-Services will be located just below your name.

3. Click on Housing and Dining on the left side of the page. You will be taken to the Housing Portal.

  • You may need to re-enter your StarID credentials.
  • When entering your StarID on this page, be sure NOT to include @live.bemidjistate.edu.

4. Click on the menu at the top and select the appropriate Housing Application.

5. Select a Term. Residence Halls would include Birch, Linden, Oak, Pine, and Tamarack.

6. Complete all sections of the housing application including the Terms of Agreement and Prepayment sections.

  • If you are under 18 at the time of application, you’ll need to print the Terms of Agreement and have both you and your parent/guardian sign. Then submit the form to our office.
  • 2024-25 Terms of Agreement
  • The $150 prepayment is applied directly toward your first semester costs.
  • All first-year students are required to have a meal plan. If you do not select a plan, we will assign one to you before the start of the contract.

7. Watch your BSU email/mailbox for updates from the Housing & Residential Life office.

  • February 1 – the Roommate Search page will be available in the housing application.
  • In June, you will be notified to re-enter your housing application to select a room, bed loft preference, and meal plan.
