Bemidji State University’s teacher licensure programs are approved by the Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB). BSU recommends you obtain a Minnesota teaching license upon completion of your BSU licensure program.
Please be advised that the completion of Bemidji State University’s teacher preparation programs may not automatically grant full licensure outside of Minnesota. State licensure requirements change regularly, and it is important to verify the current requirements with the respective state or territory’s licensing board.

Note that additional requirements not listed on the Out-of-State Licensure Information document, such as testing, training, or certifications, may be necessary to obtain a Standard or Full Teaching License in other states. However, BSU program completers may be eligible for temporary, conditional, or provisional licenses while they fulfill these additional requirements.
Always consult the specific state’s licensing board to ensure compliance with their most current licensure criteria.
