Eric Carlson – Director

I am a new professor at Bemidji State University, where I teach illustration and design courses. I hold a BS in Art Education with an emphasis in 2D Design, and my master’s work is in art education with classes from Art of Education University and Augsburg College. My experiences include four years as an illustrator and graphic designer for Mad Science of Minnesota and Schoolhouse Chess and ten years teaching K-12 art at Kelliher Public School and Jefferson Community School in Minneapolis. During five years at Kelliher, I included managing and operating a Fab Lab maker space and designing a curriculum around 3D printing, dye-sublimation printing, and CNC fabrication. The Kelliher School Fab Lab won the Profiles in Excellence award in 2017 from the Minnesota Rural Education Association (MREA). I was a semifinalist for Teacher of the Year in Minnesota in 2018. I have a particular interest in graphic novels and the maker movement.

Brigid Baier – Student Manager (She/Her/Hers)

Brigid Baier is a senior at Bemidji State University studying Graphing and Exhibit Design. She joined Digital Crops last year and took over as president in the fall semester of 2023. Spring semester of 2023, she also helped form a new club on campus to give non-art major students a space to create. Olivia Bakke – Student Manager (She/Her/Hers)

I am a third-year student studying Graphic Design, Exhibit and Experience design and Interactive Multimedia Design. During these three years at BSU, I’ve discovered my passion for art and design. I am a third-year student majoring in Graphic Design and Interactive Multimedia design with a minor in Mass Communication. I am a second-year student majoring in Graphic Design, as well as Digital Illustration and Animation. Although I am still learning everything there is to know, I am very enthusiastic about graphic design and I’m very excited to hone my skills throughout these next few years. Jesse Hasson – Content Creator

I am a second-year student majoring in Graphic Design and Interactive Multimedia Design. Prior to attending BSU, I worked as a Program Manager and Process Engineer at Amazon. I look forward to utilizing some of my experience and meshing it with new learnings in Design. I enjoy 3D modeling and video editing but am most interested in branding, UX, and product design. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my dog Cole and playing golf, darts, and softball.

I completed my Associate’s Degree in Communication Art and Design at Alexandria Technical and Community College in 2021. I’m currently a senior at Bemidji State University, working toward my Bachelor of Science in Graphic and Interactive Design. I am excited to see the challenges and opportunities that this year brings!

Hi, my name is Ethan Anderson. I’m a first-year student studying Exhibit and Graphic design and Music. Although I’m just starting out, I couldn’t be more excited to see what skills I’ll learn and what projects I’ll get to work on throughout the next couple years. When I get some spare time, I love making music, drinking coffee, hanging out with friends and family, and being outside.
