Mission Statement
It is the mission of the Digital Corps at BSU to help on-campus organizations better communicate with internal and external audiences through digital media content creation in coordination with the Office of Communication and Marketing (OCM).
We help faculty members, academic departments and student organizations create print and digital content for on-campus events. We are staffed by talented student workers passionate about art, design and communication. We are led by professors in the Technology, Art and Design and Integrated Media departments and serve the needs of faculty, staff and students in a wide range of digital design needs.
What we do
We provide a wide range of communication and publication services for free! Depending on the assessment from the Office of Communications and Marketing (OCM), we can provide the following services:
- Preparing brochures/posters/newsletters: If you want to create a poster for an event or a brochure for a new program, we can help you design and write it.
- Designing: Need help designing a new logo, digital asset or illustration? We have student designers who can help you.
- Build and write content for a website: If you need help with launching a new website or need us to write some content, feel free to contact us. We cannot provide the web hosting service, but we can help with the design.
- Capture photos and videos: We can help you capture multimedia content. Other than this, if you have any other communication needs, feel free to contact us, we may be able to offer a service not listed here.
Work with us
Students gain real-world experience following the BSU branding guidelines and communicating with real, internal clients. They learn to communicate clearly and effectively in professional face-to-face meetings, written communications and visual modes of collaborative problem-solving.
We are always looking for students who have design, writing and multimedia creation skills. If you want to work with us, feel free to contact our directors by using the general inquiry contact form.
How to request a job
If you have a project that fits the Digital Corps’ scope, please watch our video on filling out the Job Request Form and send your project our way. You will soon be contacted by an eager Digital Corps team member, ready to dive into your project and make it shine.
Once clients are satisfied with their designs, they are given ready-to-print digital files and suggested printing service locations on and off campus if hard copies are needed.
Jobs are prioritized based on the appropriateness of the Digital Corps mission, the amount of lead time provided and the abilities and availability of team members.
