Dr. Jacob Haus, assistant professor of biology, received the Rising Star in Teaching Excellence Award from The Wildlife Society’s College and University Education Working Group.
According to The Wildlife Society, the award recognizes an early-career faculty who demonstrates excellence in wildlife education, advising and educational leadership.
Haus joined the BSU biology department in 2019 and has dedicated much of his teaching and research focus to the ecology and management of large game animals, particularly white-tailed deer. He was nominated by fellow Bemidji State University biology professor, Dr. Elizabeth Rave.
