Bemidji State President, Dr. Faith Hensrud, spoke at the 2nd Annual Women United Tribute Award breakfast on Oct. 25 where five local women were recognized for their outstanding leadership in the Bemidji community. Dr. Hensrud’s speech “Answering The Challenge” discussed integrity, hard work and how women can achieve parity across multiple sectors.

Dr. Rebecca Hoffman, BSU assistant professor of social work and Simone Senogles, 2013 BSU philosophy department alumna who is now the development coordinator at Bemidji’s Indigenous Environmental Network, were among those recognized.

Bemidji State University, United Way and Bemidji Area Business Women co-sponsored the ceremony and Anna Carlson, assistant professor of environmental studies is a member of the Women United Tribute Award breakfast planning committee.
