The Great Northern Union chorus will continue the Bemidji Concert Series with their a cappella choir of over 100 voices. Chartered as a chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS) in 1985, the Minneapolis/St.Paul, Minnesota-based choir has appeared on the BHS International Chorus Contest stage more than 20 times and has placed within the top 10 each time, including eight top-five medalist finishes.
The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Bemidji High School Auditorium on Oct. 13. Tickets are $20 each. All current Bemidji State students can attend for free. Tickets will be available at the door.

The Great Northern Union Chorus was founded and charted as part of the Barbershop Harmony Society in 1985. It is a world class men’s a cappella group with over 100 voices participating. They strive to perform with a deep passion and energy, and they seek to encourage a lifetime of singing among a diverse community of men.

Bemidji State’s Department of Music began the Bemidji Concert Series in 2001 to reinforce Bemidji’s reputation as a cultural center in northern Minnesota and to provide the Bemidji region with local access to world-class musical performances.
