Thor and Mitch Swanson weigh in on Day 1 of the Bassmaster College Series National Championship, Aug. 10.

Bemidji State University’s team of Thor and Mitch Swanson held the lead for much of the weigh-in on Day 1 of the 2017 Bassmaster College Series National Championship on Lake Bemidji.

With 73 of 90 participating teams weighing in, the Swansons were in second place with a total weight of 15 lbs. 12 oz. after landing the maximum of five fish for the day. Jacob Foutz and Jake Lee from Bryan College held the lead with a five-fish total of 16 lbs. 6 oz.

BSU’s Luke Gillund and Robbie Troje were 43rd with a three-fish total weight of 6 lbs. 1 oz.

Day 2 of the Bassmaster College Series national championship gets underway Aug. 11 at 6 a.m.
