The American Indian Resource Center at Bemdiji State University holds its 11th annual Great Pumpkin 5k Fun Run/Walk on Halloween morning. Registration for the 9 a.m. race begins in the AIRC Gathering Room at 8 a.m.
The race has a $15 entry fee. Each racer receives a T-shirt, and fruit and drinks will be available at the finish line. The top five male and top five female finishers receive an award, as do the five finishers who complete the run in the best Halloween costumes. Door prizes will also be given to 10 random participants.
All proceeds support the American Indian Resource Center.
“I am excited to get some exercise, see all of the awesome costumes and get involved with our community,” said Terra Greenleaf, a junior in environmental studies and a peer advisor at the AIRC. “My 4-month-old son and I have our costumes ready to win first place!”
