President Hanson participated in a July 28 groundbreaking ceremony for the University Heights student housing development under construction on the grounds that formerly held Bemidji High School. 

University Heights will provide housing for upper-class BSU students operated by BSU Housing & Residential Life when the first building opens in 2016. The first building in a planned multi-unit complex will have 16 apartments on four stories with housing for a total of 56 students.
