The Showy Lady’s-slipper (Cypripedium retinae), also known as the Pink-and-white Lady’s-slipper or the Queen’s Lady’s-Slipper, is the state flower of Minnesota and is in peak bloom around the Bemidji area in late June and early July.
These were photographed on the bog walk at Lake Bemidji State Park on the north shore of Lake Bemidji, an easy bike ride from campus and a favorite hiking destination for BSU students.
