Kiki has worked in BSU’s Office of Human Resources as a personnel aide since 2010. This spring, she will finish a journey she started nearly three decades ago when she walks across the Sanford Center stage as a college graduate.
“I have always wanted to finish my education, and decided that it was time,” she said.
She explored several degree options at BSU before settling on business and accounting, areas that had always interested her.
“Those degrees are online, and that fit best with my life. I have a family and I volunteer at several things in town, so it was all about balance,” she said.
Though that effort to balance school against the other priorities in her personal life has been challenging, she’s managed to complete her degree and see a decades-long dream through to its conclusion.
“I have finally accomplished something I set out to do when I graduated from high school 30 years ago,” she said. “It took a long time and a couple of tries, but I have achieved that goal and I have a degree.”
