• Dr. Valicia Boudry, associate professor of mass communication, has received Quality Matters certification for her course, MASC3500 Media Design.
• Brad Folkestad, director of athletic media relations, gained some social media fame for his picture of the North Star College Cup strapped into his car to protect it during its journey to Bemidji. His pic was retweeted 16 times and picked up 52 favorites and was mentioned several times in stories by college hockey beat writers during the days after BSU’s tournament win.

• Dr. John Gonzalez, associate professor of psychology, was recently featured in Anishinaabeg Today, the monthly newspaper of the White Earth Nation, for his work leading the tribe’s strategic planning efforts. The Wednesday, Jan. 7, edition of the paper featuring the story on Gonzalez’s work is available as a PDF download.
• Dr. Kristel Kippenhan, professor of human performance, sport and health, completed the International Triathlon Union’s Triathlon World Championship race, along with her coach, mentor and BSU alum Neil King, in Edmonton last September.
Kippenhan was also pictured (below) in a commemorative issue of USA Triathlon Magazine celebrating the 40th anniversary of the first triathlon. A digital edition of the magazine is available online.
