After 15 years, the Homecoming parade is back for Bemidji State University’s Homecoming festivities.
The parade will start off at the corner of 2nd Street and Beltrami Avenue in downtown Bemidji after a one-mile Beaver Fun Run begins.
On Thursday, BSU’s nursing program will celebrate 30 years of nursing with an open house and a tour of the nursing lab.
BSU’s traditional Alumni Leaders in the Classroom panels are topical programs that bring BSU grads back to campus to share their professional experiences with students, staff and the public. This year’s schedule of five presentations begins Thursday with alumni in education-related programs and continues with alumni representing accounting, business, health professions and mass communications throughout the day on Friday.
Saturday’s parade sets the tone for a day full of events including BSU soccer and a pre-game celebration in Diamond Point Park beginning at 11:30 a.m. leading into BSU’s football game against Minot State at 2:30 p.m.
Immediately following the football game, alumni football players will gather at the American Indian Resource Center, while Native American alumni will get together at the David Park House.
Saturday’s events end on a high note with the annual Beaver Block Party in downtown Bemidji. The Bemidji Area Alumni Chapter organizes this event, and proceeds benefit scholarships supported by the chapter.
