SafeZone training is an opportunity to learn about how to be an advocate for LGBTQA (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning, and ally) identified students and faculty/staff.
Recently, SafeZone signs have been developed to hang on your office door for those who have gone through the training. If you have completed the training this year and would like a sign, please contact me and I will send it to you. The SafeZone sign simply indicates that you have taken part in the training and can serve as an advocate to LGBTQA members of our community. The sign serves as a signal to LGBTQA members of our community that you are supportive of them.
Haven’t gone through SafeZone training? Don’t worry! There will be an additional training offered to the campus community on April 10thfrom 3-4:30 in the Crying Wolf room.
If you would like to arrange additional SafeZone presentations for your class, office, department, etc., please let me know and I would be happy to arrange a session for you!
If you have any questions regarding the SafeZone program or if you could like to be part of the training team, please do not hesitate to contact me.
