Bemidji State University will host its inaugural International Experiences Day on Sept. 23, a day-long celebration of the transformational educational opportunities enjoyed by faculty and students through their participation in the university’s various study abroad programs.
Sponsored by the Office of Academic Affairs and the International Program Center, the day will allow faculty, staff and students who have participated in international opportunities over the last two to three years to share their experiences.
International Experiences Day will be held in Bensen Hall from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. More than 20 half-hour sessions are scheduled throughout the day, with sessions beginning each half hour.
The sessions cover a broad array of international experiences, ranging from participation in study abroad or semester abroad programs, internships or other working or teaching abroad opportunities, humanitarian or other volunteer experiences to other experiences related to the university and its international partner institutions.
An introductory welcome session will be given at both 10 a.m. and noon in Bensen Hall 115 by Dr. Martin Tadlock, provost and vice president for academic affairs; Dr. Sanjeev Phukan, BSU’s director of international relations; and Cherish Hagen-Swanson, director of BSU’s International Program Center.
