Jessie Fisher, a senior music major at Bemidji State University, will perform a vocal recital at the university’s Thompson Recital Hall located in the Bangsberg Fine Arts Complex.
Fisher, from Bemidji, Minn., will perform Jan. 26 at 7 p.m. as part of her bachelor’s degree in music, with an emphasis in vocal performance. She is a soprano, and her performance will include nine pieces in French, German, Italian and English. These pieces are from a variety of composers, including Handel, Ravel, Puccini, Bellini, Brahms, Rorem and Leo Delibes.
Her performance will also include two duets with BSU student Amanda Boring and Bemidji resident and BSU alum Tony Tammaro.
The chosen music pieces are art songs, opera arias and duets and are favorites of Fisher, who has always dreamed of performing them onstage.
“I have always had a love for Puccini’s music, so I wanted to include an aria and duet from a favorite opera,” says Fisher.
Jessie Fisher is a member of the Swing Club at Bemidji State University, as well as Young Life College.
This event is free and open to the public.
