Bemidji State University’s Varsity Singers will perform a holiday themed concert on Dec. 10
The concert begins at 7 p.m. on the Bangsberg Fine Arts Complex main stage.
The concert will feature performances by the entire Varsity Singers group, and also by two breakout ensembles and a soloist; the soloist will perform “O Holy Night” and lead several audience sing-alongs of traditional Christmas carols.
Selections to be performed include “Rise Up Shepherd and Follow,” “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen,” “Hodie Alleluia” and “Mary Rocked the Little Baby.” Two selections by contemporary Minnesota composers will also be performed – “What Child” by Paul Lohman and “Road Home” by Stephen Paulus.
This event is free and open to the public; however, in lieu of an admission fee people attending the concert are asked to donate non-perishable food items, which will be donated to the Bemidji Food Shelf.
The Varsity Singers are a group of 30 unauditioned students from Bemidji State University under the direction of Steve Reznicek, an adjunct music instructor at the university.
