Bemidji State University’s Outdoor Program Center will hold its annual Green and White Regatta Series on Saturday, Aug. 25.
The event, which will begin at 1 p.m. with a captains meeting at the BSU Boathouse, located in Diamond Point Park, offers the community an opportunity to sail with other enthusiasts in a friendly, low stress race.
Officials will explain the basic rules of starts, the course, handicapping the results and celebrating the finish and will try to arrange experienced sailors to pair with newer crew, and run multiple laps of a short course in the south basin of Lake Bemidji.
There is a $10 entrance fee for the regatta, which includes equipment rental and a personal floatation device. For more information, call the Outdoor Program Center office at (218) 755-3900.
