BEMIDJI, Minn. (March 7, 2011) — The Northwest Minnesota Small Business Development Center, an external program of Bemidji State University’s College of Business, Technology and Communication, will offer courses on Quickbooks software this month.
March 9 – Quickbooks Payroll
This afternoon seminar will cover the essentials of the payroll functions in Quickbooks. This workshop provides an overview of the software with step-by-step instructions on how to complete payroll functions in the software and pointers on avoiding common payroll errors.
Specifically, the course will include information on how to set up and process payroll, track time, create summary reports, track taxes and liabilities, pay payroll taxes, process W2 forms and others.
The course will be held on Wednesday, March 9, from 1-5 p.m. at Optivation’s 3801 Bemidji Ave. N. campus in Bemidji. Registration for the course is $79; computers will be provided. Space is limited, so advance registration is requested.
March 23 – Introduction to Quickbooks
This full-day seminar will cover the very basics of Intuit’s QuickBooks accounting software, targeted toward people having little experience with computers, bookkeeping or the Quickbooks software. Participants will learn how to set up a new company in Quickbooks, write and print checks, bills and invoices and how to track customers and vendors. The course will also explain different types of accounts and the basics of financial statements.
The course will be held on Wednesday, March 23, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Optivation’s 3801 Bemidji Ave. N. campus in Bemidji. Registration for the course is $89, with a $10 discount if registered prior to March 16; computers will be provided and lunch is included in the registration fee. Space is limited, so advance registration is requested.
April 6 – Advanced QuickBooks
This full-day seminar will explore some of the more advanced features found in Quickbooks. Participants should have prior knowledge of the Quickbooks software, including how to enter checks, invoices and bills. Participants will learn how to reconcile bank accounts, set up a budget and perform credit card transactions. The course will present information about understanding profit/loss statements, balance sheets and budgets, and also show how individual transactions impact final financial statements.
The course will be held on Wednesday, April 6, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Optivation’s 3801 Bemidji Ave. N. campus in Bemidji. Registration for the course is $89, with a $10 discount if registered prior to March 30; computers will be provided and lunch is included in the registration fee. Space is limited, so advance registration is requested.
