BEMIDJI, Minn. (February 16, 2011) — The Social Work Club at Bemidji State University will hold its annual spaghetti dinner fundraiser on Sunday, Feb. 27, at Bemidji’s Methodist Church.
The event will take place from 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at the church, which is located at 902 Beltrami Ave. NW. Tickets are available for $6; children and students with valid IDs are available for $4. For children, balloon sculptures and face painting will also be available.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will help cover the cost of the club’s annual field trip, which sends students to either Social Work Day at the Capitol in St. Paul; the Minnesota Social Service Conference; or an urban social service experience that includes volunteer activity. The club’s field trips, which have engaged over 250 students in active, experiential learning since they began in 1997, show students how the legislative process and public policy can impact the quality of life for Minnesota’s residents.
