BEMIDJI, Minn. (April 27, 2010) — Upcoming events sponsored by the Bemidji State University Center for Research and Innovation include an online course for home health aids, Dale Carnegie training for business networking and a Brown Bag Luncheon presentation on retirement planning.
All events are held at the Center for Research and Innovation, 3801 Bemidji Ave. N., Bemidji, unless otherwise noted.
Online Course: “Home Health Care Aides.”
This course will allow Certified Nursing Assistants to add to their Nurse’s Aide Certification, allowing them to do home care visits. This course is open to Certified Nursing Assistants who have taken a Minnesota-approved nurse’s aid course and who are on the CNA Registry. The one-credit course is presented entirely online. Dates: Six-week self-paced course; participants may begin any time starting Saturday, May 1.
Fee: $199 course fee plus $80 test fee

Brown Bag Luncheon presentation: “Mapping Your Retirement.”
Presenter: Debbie Drinkard Grovum, Counselor, Northwest Technical College
Debbie Drinkard Grovum will present an introduction to “Mapping Your Retirement,” a seven-hour course that serves as a personal guide to maintaining your health, managing your money and living well. This presentation will focus on the benefits of developing an integrated plan for retirement and factors that influence creating productive, healthy and financially sound retirement lives.

Fee: free; participants encouraged to bring their own lunch.
