BEMIDJI, Minn. — Bemidji State University and its American Indian Resource Center will host or be involved with a series of activities to celebrate Indian Week. Indian Week kicks off Monday, April 20 and runs through Saturday, April 25.
The schedule of events for Indian Week is:
Monday, April 20
10 a.m.-2 p.m. – Make a Dream Catcher, American Indian Resource Center’s Gathering Room. Instruction and materials available free of charge.
6:45-9 p.m. – Film, “Older Than America,” a suspense thriller on boarding schools, Hagg-Sauer 100. Free admission.
Thursday, April 23
6-8:30 p.m. – American Indian Student Awards Banquet, Beaux Arts Ballroom, Hobson Memorial Union. Admission $10, children five and under free.
Friday, April 24
9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. – “Historical Trauma and the American Indian Experience,” American Indian Resource Center’s Gathering Room. Admission $15 per person, includes lunch.
Saturday, April 25
10 a.m.-2 p.m. – Silent auction and rummage sale, American Indian Resource Center’s Gathering Room. Free admission.
April 24 – May 1
Ojibwe Art Expo, Leech Lake Tribal College, Cass Lake, Minn. Free admission.
