BEMIDJI, Minn. — The Bemidji State University theatre program, in collaboration with the Bemidji Community Theater, presents the timeless fairy tale “Rodger’s and Hammerstein’s Cinderella” for three performances, opening Friday, April 17 and closing with a matinee performance on Sunday, April 19.
“Cinderella” opens Friday, April 17 with a 7:30 p.m. opening curtain, and will be performed Saturday, April 18, also with a 7:30 p.m. opening curtain. The production will close Sunday, April 19 with a 3 p.m. matinee performance.
Venture with that poor orphaned girl, Cinderella, as she dreams about going to the ball. The production will feature all of the familiar characters, including the wicked stepmother and Cinderella’s equally wicked stepsisters, along with the magical fairy godmother and a cadre of loveable mice.
BSU’s production of “Cinderella” will be directed by Mary Knox Johnson, assistant professor of theater and communication arts. Production designers are Pat Carriere, assistant professor of theater and communication arts, scenery; Kelly Kirk, lighting; Knox Johnson, costumes; Cheryl Winnett, properties; and Ginny Anderson, graphics.
Tickets to “Cinderella” are available at Iverson Corner Drug in downtown Bemidji, Ken K. Thompson Jewelry and at the Paul Bunyan Mall. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Bemidji State University students will be admitted free with a valid student ID.
