BEMIDJI, Minn. — Bemidji State University’s Outdoor Program Center will offer free clinics on ice fishing and introductory rock climbing during the month of January. The ice fishing clinic is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 14, while the rock climbing course is slated for Tuesday, Nov. 20.
• Ice fishing clinic
The OPC will hold a free introduction to ice fishing, where participants will learn essential strategies from the center’s master anglers. The clinic will be held from 3-5 p.m. at the OPC Boathouse, located in Bemidji’s Diamond Point Park.
Participants are encouraged to dress in appropriate outdoor attire.
• Introductory rock climbing clinic
Tailored to beginners, the rock climbing class offers instruction about knots, climbing equipment and basic climbing techniques. The class will be held from 6-9 p.m. at the rock climbing wall in the Gillett Recreation and Fitness Center on the BSU campus and is open to the public.
The OPC will provide harnesses and climbing shoes. There is no recreation center admission charge for this class.
