OPC offers skiing-related activities throughout January

BEMIDJI, Minn. — Bemidji State University’s Outdoor Program Center will offer a variety of skiing-related activites throughout the month of January, including free shuttles to Bemidji’s Buena Vista Ski Area and waxing clinics for skis and snowboards.

• Buena Vista ski area shuttles
The OPC will be offering shuttles to Bemidji’s Buena Vista Ski Area on Friday, Jan. 16 and Friday, Jan. 23. The free shuttles will depart from the Gillett Recreation and Fitness Center on the Bemidji State campus at 5 p.m. and return at 8 p.m. both days.

• Ski and snowboard waxing clinics
The OPC will hold a series of waxing clinics for cross country and alpine skis and snowboards on Jan. 21-22. A session for cross country skis will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 21, and a clinic for alpine skis and snowboards will be held Thursday, Jan. 22.

The waxing clinics will be held from 7-9 p.m. at the OPC Boathouse, located in Bemidji’s Diamond Point Park.

Those interested in participating in the waxing clinics or riding the shuttles to Buena Vista are encouraged to call the OPC to confirm the start times for the events in advance.
