BEMIDJI, Minn. — The Bemidji State University Outdoor Programming Center will hold a pair of events on Monday, Nov. 17: a polar bear swim in Lake Bemidji at noon; and an open kayaking session in the rec center pool beginning at 7 p.m.
• Polar Bear Swim
The OPC is conducting its annual fall/winter polar bear swim in Lake Bemidji.
Participants can meet at the OPC Boathouse, located in Diamond Point Park, at noon before joining OPC staff for the plunge into Lake Bemidji at noon.
The swim will conclude before 1 p.m.
• Pool Kayaking
The OPC will provide kayaks and instructors for a kayaking play and practice session in the swimming pool at the Gillett Recreation-Fitness Center on campus.
Free and open to the public, the session will each run from 7-10 p.m. Those who wish to bring their own kayaks should call the OPC in advance. A swimsuit, towel, nose plugs and goggles are recommended.
