BEMIDJI, Minn. — Bemidji State University’s Outdoor Program Center (OPC) will demonstrate outdoor cooking skills from 4-6 p.m. Monday, Oct.  27 at Bemidji State Park.

For years, OPC guides have whipped up soups, pastas and desserts on numerous back-country trips. They’ll show their audience how to prepare meals for their trips, what kind of equipment to bring and how to cook over fires, Dutch ovens and camping stoves.

Those who plan to go are invited to ride a 12-passenger shuttle from the OPC to the park, or meet the guides at the park. A pass to enter the park is required by those driving separately. Otherwise, this event is free and open to the public.

Visitors can sample what the guides prepare and are invited to swap their favorite outdoor cooking recipes. Notebooks and pens are recommended for note-taking.
