BEMIDJI, Minn. — The Bemidji State University Department of Visual Arts and the Bemidji Community Art Center presents “Linda Christianson – Working Potter,” a presentation by ceramics artist Linda Christianson as part of the annual “It’s Only Clay” activities, on Tuesday, Oct. 7.
The lecture, which is free and open to the public, will be held at 7 p.m. in room 115 of the Education Arts Building on the Bemidji State campus.
Christianson, who will be a juror and guest artist in this year’s “It’s Only Clay” activities, will explore the daily relationship with pottery in our own homes, its use and our daily relationship with its utility, and for the opportunity ceramic art presents for continual visual inquiry.
Now in its sixth year, “It’s Only Clay” is a collaboration between Bemidji State and the Bemidji Community Arts Center. The event features the keynote lecture, a two-day on-campus workshop and a national juried ceramics exhibit at the BCAC in November and December. The exhibit will feature works by Christianson.
“It’s Only Clay” is sponsored by the BSU Foundation and the Bemidji State University Ceramics Club. The event is made possible in part with funding from the Region 2 Arts Council and the state of Minnesota.
