BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University’s Outdoor Programming Center (OPC) will offer a series of shuttle rides to area ski attractions in February. The OPC will sponsor a $15 shuttle ride to Giant’s Ridge on Saturday, Feb. 2, and will offer a free shuttle service to the Buena Vista ski area every Friday in February.
• Giant’s Ridge
On Saturday, Feb. 2, a van to Giant’s Ridge, just east of Virginia, Minn., will leave from behind Lower Hobson Union at 7 a.m. and return sometime after 9 p.m. The $15 fee covers transportation only, and is available to the public as well as students. Riders must cover the cost of their own ski rentals and lift tickets.
Giant’s Ridge offers 35 downhill runs and more than 60 kilometers of cross-country ski trails.
• Buena Vista
Each Friday in February, a van to the Buena Vista ski area north of Bemijdji will leave from behind Lower Hobson Union at 5 p.m. and return sometime after 8 p.m. Available to the public as well as students, the shuttle will run February 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29. Riders are responsible for their own equipment rentals and lift tickets.
Buena Vista offers hills for snow tubing, downhill skiing and snowboarding and cross-country ski trails.
