Amanda Longie is an Assistant Professor of Social Work and the Faculty Liaison for Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) Internships at Bemidji State University.
Ms. Longie began her career in the United States Air Force where she served six years as an intelligence analyst. She began her substance abuse and mental health counseling career in 2012 working with veterans that struggled with occurring disorders and expanded her work within the specialty court systems in Phoenix, Arizona and more recently in Bemidji, Minnesota. She has worked with a variety of populations including the inmate population, pregnant women, and those afflicted with domestic violence issues. Ms. Longie is passionate about teaching young professionals in the field and has supervised and mentored interns during her practice.
Originally from South Carolina, she has lived in various parts of the United Sates and has embraced Bemidji, Minnesota as her home. She enjoys spending time with her three children, her two dogs and appreciates camping, hiking, fishing, skiing and kayaking when she has the time.
