Science Fair Participation
Students will need to complete two steps to register for the Northern MN Regional Science Fair and be eligible to advance to the state competition. If a student only wishes to compete at the regional fair, the first step is all that needs to be completed.
Step 1: Register Online for the Regional Fair
Each student needs to register for the regional fair online. Registration for the 2024 Science Fair has closed.
All materials you submit to the Northern MN Regional Science Fair may be used on the website to help future students prepare themselves for the event. More specifically, a pdf copy of the winning paper and picture of the winning poster will be included on the website indefinitely.
Step 2: Complete Forms to Be Eligible for the State Competition
If the student is interested in advancing on to State or ISEF, they need to complete the proper International Science and Engineering Fair paperwork. To determine what paperwork is needed, use the ISEF Rules Wizard.
The Rules Wizard will give you a list of forms that you need to complete, based on the type of project you have.
Please be aware that any students interested in working with human subjects, vertebrate organisms or hazardous materials will need to complete the appropriate paperwork before the start of the study in order to be eligible.
Registration Fees
Registration fees are $20 per individual project and $30 for team projects. If you need registration fees waived, please reach out to NorthernMNScienceFair@bemidjistate.edu.
Teachers/Mentors: Checks for registration fees should be made out to “Northern Regional Science Fair” and sent along with a completed list of students to:
