About Madison

Hi, my name is Madison Johnson, and I am a Graphic Designer and Marketing Communicator from Rochester, MN! This Spring, I will be graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing Communication and Design with an emphasis in Graphic Design. When I first arrived at Bemidji State University, I was unsure of what I wanted to do, so I decided on a Marketing Communication degree, which ended up being a great program that I continue to be passionate about. My communication major led me to take a Media Design course, where I fell in love with design. In my senior year of high school, I discovered a love for drawing and ceramics, which ultimately started my design passion as well. In addition to fine art, I enjoy creating magazine layouts, advertisements, posters, newsletters, and illustrations. I’m grateful to have two strong passions in my life, and I’m excited to see where my career will take me.

Presentation Description

For my presentation, I will be showcasing 3 pieces that reflect both my Graphic Design and Marketing skills. The first project will be a re-design of a children’s chapter book, Tunnels, by Roderick Gordon and Brian Williams. During this, you’ll see a re-design of the cover, front matter, interior matter, back matter, and back of the book. For the second project, I’ll be showing my MedSpa Divine Brand Guide, which includes a new brand identity and guidelines for marketers and partners to follow. Lastly, I’ll be presenting my Garden Genius magazine. Throughout, you’ll see a logo, contents page, impressum, and a variety of articles that follow a clean modern layout. I look forward to presenting my portfolio to you soon!
