About Jocelyn
Hi! My name is Jocelyn Rohloff and I will be graduating from the School of Technology, Art and Design here at BSU. I had a lot of trouble picking just one area of emphasis, so I decided to enroll in one of our new academic pathways. By choosing the Creativity & Innovation emphasis have been able to personalize my academic journey by combining my love for both digital and hands on work. I am proud to say that over these past years I’ve been able to bring my creating and making skills to a professional level as well as develop a knack for out of the box thinking. This past year I also decided to start the process of becoming a Professional Tattoo Artist and have started an apprenticeship under the artist who’s been tattooing me since I was 18 years old.
When I first came to BSU back in 2017 I was clueless. After a few years, 3 major changes and a year off from school due to COVID, I had finally decided to come back and finish what I had started. I grew up only an hour away in Grand Rapids and was active in their athletics programs and had always harbored a passion for the arts. I just never thought I could make a career out of it. My parents have always helped pick me up when I stumbled off the path to a higher education, but my mom and grandma were especially excited when I decided to follow my passion and get a Bachelor of Science in Design. The support on this journey from my family, friends, peers and professors has helped me immensely and I cannot thank everyone enough.
