Tips for Overall Wellness
Taking action and making choices about wellness is something that cannot be accomplished without the support of your community. Being part of a community is important for so many reasons. One of the biggest of these is to feel like are supported wherever you are and in whatever situation. As such we have established a Wellness Committee to provide this support through information, connection and encouragement for achieving wellness and practicing self-care.
Sleep Hygiene
Sleep is one of the most important aspects of your life, health and longevity and yet it is increasingly neglected in twenty-first-century society. Not maintaining sleep has devastating consequences to the body and mind. Every major disease in the developed world- Alzheimer’s, cancer, obesity, diabetes — has very strong casual links to deficient sleep.
Sleep is your life-support system and Mother Nature’s best effort at immortality, says sleep scientist Matt Walker. In this deep dive into the science of slumber, Walker shares the wonderfully good things that happen when you get sleep — and the alarmingly bad things that happen when you don’t. Learn more about sleep’s impact on your learning, memory, immune system and even your genetic code.
