- Can you get comfortable with new software or platforms, like the BSU email or D2L Brightspace (the learning management system BSU uses)?
- Can you manage a weekly schedule of work in one or more courses?
- Are you self-directed and self-motivated to ask questions and work through course materials without a lot of oversight?
- Are you able to engage in online coursework with fellow students, such as in group discussions, activities or projects?

What sets BSU’s psychology online program apart from other online degrees?
- Our program is entirely online. The psychology offers all required courses and many elective courses online, including several classes that are a part of the Core Curriculum (formerly Liberal Education) program.
- BSU’s tuition rate is the same whether you are a Minnesota resident or not.

You can take electives that explore a variety of experiences and perspectives, including Disability and Ableism, Psychology of Women and Gender, Psychology of Oppression, Humans and Other Animals, Death and Culture and Queer Psychology.
- BSU psychology faculty are all committed to helping students succeed in their courses and into their post-graduation plans. We frequently work with students on research projects, supervise internships and write letters of recommendation for jobs and graduate school.

What to Expect as a Student in the Online Program
Whether you live in Bemidji or across the country, BSU and the psychology department have many resources available to our online students.
- Online Virtual Assembly. All online psychology students are automatically enrolled in this D2L shell. Here you can keep in touch with fellow online students, learn about updates in the program, find links and information about the resources below and contact the Online Program Coordinator.
- Advising Success Center. At the ASC, you can register a proctor for a proctored exam and connect with a tutor.
- Accessibility Services. If you have a documented disability, you can set up formal accommodations for your courses. Depending on your disability, accommodations can range from extended time on exams, to a note-taker, to alternative forms of textbooks and course materials.
- A.C. Clark Library. The BSU library has many books and materials available electronically. Library faculty are also available to chat online with you about your research questions and can provide materials through InterLibrary Loan.
- Writing Resource Center. Whether you’d like to improve your writing skills independently, or your instructor requires a draft to go through the writing center, you can set up a meeting online.
