Each academic year the Department of Geography awards four scholarships to Geography majors based on criteria established by donors who have a longstanding connection to both the department and to Bemidji State University. We are grateful for their continued support of our students.
To be eligible for all scholarships at BSU, fill out the Foundation Scholarship Application before Feb 1st.

Departmental Scholarships
Andi and Mike Garrett Geographic Education Scholarship
Criteria: To the Outstanding junior majoring in Geography and minimum overall GPA of 3.0. A student meeting the same class standing and GPA requirement majoring in Social Studies Teaching, Secondary Level, may be considered for this award. The scholarship is intended for one student and shall not be split among multiple students until such time as the award amount would exceed the cost of tuition for one student.
Jeffery Busse Geography Scholarship
Criteria: Geography Major
Margaret H. Harlow Geography Scholarship
Criteria: Junior or senior geography major with 3.0 GPA.
Roy P. Meyer Scholarship Fund
Criteria: Sophomore or junior majoring in Geography.
Foundation Scholarship
G.S. Droba Science Scholarship
Criteria: To a full-time undergraduate student(s) majoring in Engineering Physics who meet the academic requirements. If an Engineering Physics degree is not currently available, it may provide an award to majors in Biology, Aquatic Biology, Marine Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science/Geography, Environmental Science or Physics.
Awarded to Chemistry for 21/22.
