Impact
Traveling to rural Kenya as a BSU student, I conducted a sustainability survey of water sources for a farming community. After BSU, I worked on rural housing developments in Montana, as a GIS Analyst for Apple Inc. in Silicon Valley, a Historical GIS Analyst for Ancestry.com, and a Program Manager directing emergency response with the Red Cross managing supplies and volunteers at a welcome site for Afghan refugees. As an NSF Fellow during my graduate program, I worked with a team of rangeland ecologists, wildlife ecologists, sociologists, mathematicians, and others to study sustainability and climate change in the Western United States by surveying risk perceptions of extreme heat events.
