FAQ

The Biology department frequently lists open positions for students.
Some of these positions require “work-study qualification,” meaning that the applicant falls within a certain income level and has applied for this qualification through Financial Aid. Other positions are “regular payroll,” meaning that work-study qualification is not required.

Positions (both work study and regular payroll) are competitive and are granted based on an application form filled out in the Biology department. Priority is given to Biology majors. However, students of other related science fields are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities may include: laboratory prep in areas such as microbiology, cell/molecular biology, major and non-major freshman courses, anatomy and physiology, aquatic biology, botany, etc. Duties may also include greenhouse oversight, taxidermy, rodent care, clerical work, etc.
