Master Of Science - Science

The Science program provides a broad view of science necessary to an understanding of the interrelationship among the sciences. Study includes the strengthening of each student's undergraduate preparation with a focus on the science curriculum for grades 5-12. All Candidates must either demonstrate their research potential by contributing an original work to a science discipline, or show their ability to interpret science by preparing a research paper.


Preparation Requirements

Undergraduate teaching major in biology, chemistry, physics, earth science, physical science, or broad science. Satisfactory performance on any departmental qualifying examination which may be required. The science program advisory committee may require papers and/or a conference as evidence of the applicant's depth of understanding in the basic sciences.

The applicant's undergraduate record will be used to determine course work deficiencies upon entering the program.

Competency Requirement

A working knowledge of the applied statistics is required. This requirement may be satisfied by successfully completing SCI 6350 Computer Applications in Statistics.
